Safety Rules

1.ACCIDENT OR INJURIES, regardless of their nature, shall be reported to your supervisor for immediate attention.

2.JOB CLEANLINESS shall be practiced on all construction projects. Debris shall not be allowed to accumulate and shall be removed frequently.

3.HARD HATS shall be worn on the job by all personnel.

4.SAFETY GLASSES, GOGGLES, OR FACE SHIELDS shall be worn at all times.

5.WORK BOOTS shall be hard soled and ankle high.

6.CLOTHING shall be appropriate to duties being performed. Shirts are required at all times and must cover the shoulder.

7.EXCAVATION AND TRENCH CONSTRUCTION shall conform to OSHA regulations.

8.HAND TOOLS shall not be used for any other purpose than that intended, and all damaged or worn parts  promptly repaired and replaced.

9.POWER TOOLS shall be operated only by authorized personnel, with guards furnished by the manufacturer "in place", and if electrical, shall be grounded.

10.COMPRESSED GAS CYLINDERS shall be chained or otherwise secured in an upright position, and shall be place in cylinder carts whenever being transported to different locations on the project.  Oxygen and Acetylene should be stored at least 20 feet apart.

11.SOURCES OF IGNITION, including smoking, shall be prohibited from areas where flammable liquids are stored, and appropriate warning signs shall be posted at these locations.

12.INTOXICATING BEVERAGES OR CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE possession or use before or during working hours is strictly forbidden.

13.RIDING OF EQUIPMENT IS PROHIBITED.  No person shall ride any hook, hoist or other material            handling equipment.

14.MACHINERY WHEN OPERATING SHALL NOT be oiled, cleaned, adjusted or re-fueled.

15.WELDING AND BURNING OPERATIONS shall be carried out only by authorized personnel with appropriate personal protective equipment.

16.GLOVES shall be worn by employees handling rough or sharp edged materials.

17.SUPERVISORS shall enforce these safety rules, instruct in  performing duties in a safe manner, put workers to task only when he is sure that no dangerous conditions exist; instruct new workers in regard to these safety rules.

18.HORSEPLAY OR PRACTICAL JOKES shall not be permitted on the job.

19.ALL POSTED SAFETY RULES shall be obeyed and shall not be removed, except by management's authorization.  Violation of these safety rules may be cause for dismissal of any employee.

20.HEARING PROTECTION shall be worn as appropriate.

21.SPEED LIMITS for vehicles and equipment shall be rigidly observed at all times.  22.SEAT BELTS shall be worn at all times.

22.SAFETY VESTS shall be worn on all jobs at all times.
